Flat driftwood pieces are best used where you want to create a natural "base" for an arrangement or achieve a nice structure without the decoration looking cluttered. They work great in table decorations, arrangements for bowls and boxes, candle compositions, and even in larger wreaths as a natural accent that optically softens the composition.
Tips from practice:
• As a base for a bowl: arrange 3–6 pieces in one direction (like "floating" wood), then add dried materials and small fruits – the decoration will gain layers and a clear direction.
• In wreaths: use 2–4 pieces of wood as a more solid element and arrange delicate dried materials (lagurus, phalaris, oats) around them – the wreath will look natural and not monotonous.
• For a boho/natural style: combine with jute, raffia, wood wool, poppy heads, and beige dried materials. For a more modern look, add one contrasting color (e.g., burgundy or dark green).
Store the wood pieces in a dry place, away from moisture. Dust can be removed with a soft brush or by gently blowing with cold air. If you are gluing them into a decoration, use an appropriate amount of glue so that the natural patina remains visually clean.
