Usage and tips
Stabilized reindeer moss light green (Cladonia rangiferina) is a popular natural material for creating moss pictures, logos, and interior decorations. Thanks to its soft and flexible structure, it easily adheres to wood, MDF boards, or canvas. Icelandic lichen for moss pictures is used in interior design and floristry as an ecological and durable alternative to live mosses.
For gluing, we recommend using a low-temperature hot glue gun or special glue for stabilized moss. For a professional look of the moss surface, it is advisable to glue the clumps "upright" with sufficient density. When using this method of gluing, expect a consumption of approximately 6–7 kg/m². With looser gluing "flat", the consumption is lower, approximately 4 kg/m². This means that a 1 kg package will cover approximately 0.15 to 0.25 m² depending on the density and application method.
Cut-off parts and small moss waste can be used to fill smaller areas, for making wreaths, or as filling under other decorations, so nothing goes to waste.
Care and maintenance
Stabilized reindeer moss requires no special care – it is completely maintenance-free. It does not need to be watered, nor does it require light or nutrients. Keep it indoors with normal air humidity of 40–60%. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, and air conditioning, which could dry out the moss. If it gets dusty, simply blow it gently with cold air or clean it carefully.
