Nigella orientalis – Eastern nigella – is an ancient decorative plant, known for its unique seed pods. It was cultivated in Europe, where after harvesting it was carefully dried and then dyed a rich orange color. The stems are slightly flexible and stable, which makes arranging easier.
Black cumin requires no special care. Protect it from moisture and direct sunlight to preserve its color. In case of dust, use cold air from a hairdryer or a soft brush. To refresh, you can apply a spray for dried flowers (e.g. SPRING pro florist).
Nigella was historically grown not only for decorations, but also as an ornamental garden plant. Its dried fruits make it a long-popular floral element.
The orange color is associated with vitality, warmth, and optimism – it has a joyful and energizing effect indoors, making it ideal for brightening up muted decorations.
