Nigella orientalis – Eastern Nigella (black cumin) – originates from the Mediterranean and Western Asia, where it has long been cultivated for its decorative seeds. It is harvested in full maturity for use in arrangements, when the capsules have ideal firmness.
It is then dried through a natural, slow process that preserves its shape and structure. The bleached version undergoes a gentle treatment that gives it a creamy, elegant and timeless shade, especially popular in modern and wedding decorations.
Care and maintenance
Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not expose to moisture or wind – the flowers are delicate. They require no maintenance, but be gentle when handling to avoid breaking the flowers.
