Mahogany dried fruit slices are very versatile decorative elements with a distinct natural character. Thanks to their star-shaped cut and internal structure, they look attractive at first glance and are ideal for winter, natural, and rustic arrangements. You can use them in wreaths, bowls with dried materials, for making candle holders, seasonal decorations, or as an addition to gift wrapping. The vintage white color softens their natural contrast and allows for combinations with moss, pinecones, twigs, and colored fruits. They look elegant and harmonious in interiors, while captivating with their unique shape.
You can simply place the slices on the surface of your arrangement or attach them with a hot glue gun if you need a more secure fixation. They look best in groups, where their different sizes create a natural rhythm. When creating wreaths, we recommend combining the slices with contrasting materials, such as moss, grasses, or dark fruits. For table decorations, simply arrange them loosely or place them in bowls with dried materials. In DIY projects, they function as a dominant element thanks to the fruit's distinctive shape.
Dried fruits need to be stored in a dry place and protected from moisture, which could affect their shape or surface finish. The vintage white surface may change hue over time if exposed to direct sunlight, so we recommend placing decorations away from intense light. Dust can be removed with a soft brush or by blowing it off without using water. Handle with care to avoid cracking the natural shell of the fruit.
The product is made from dried mahogany fruits (Swietenia mahagoni), which are cut into decorative segments after thorough drying. The fruit naturally forms chambers and a regular structure that is prominent and very effective after cutting. Subsequently, the slices are lightly whitened to achieve a vintage look and highlight their natural grain. Each piece is unique, so the shape, size, and intensity of the effect may vary slightly, which is typical for natural materials.
Mahogany fruits were traditionally used in crafts in the Caribbean regions where the tree naturally occurs. After cutting, they reveal symmetrical compartments that resemble a star pattern and are popular in floristry and modern decoration. Their regular structure is the result of the natural protection of seeds in the exotic environment of tropical forests.
