Usage and tips
Keraquick casting powder is a professional material for creating decorations, miniaturism, floristry, and creative projects. From a 5 kg package, you can easily create numerous small and larger decorative elements: reliefs of flowers and leaves, delicate figurines, decorative bases for bouquets, medallions, ornaments for glass containers, or special shapes for thematic arrangements. After hardening, the casting acquires a porcelain-like appearance – solid, smooth, slightly glossy, and ideal for further processing.
The white color of the powder allows for easy coloring with acrylic paints, glazes, metallic sprays, or patinas. It combines wonderfully with dried flowers, grasses, pinecones, mosses, or natural decorations. It adds elegance, contrast, and spatial accent to arrangements.
How to work with the product
Mix the powder with water in a 3:1 ratio (3 parts powder and 1 part water). For 1 kg of powder, use approximately 0.28 l of water, yielding about 0.65 l of casting compound.
After mixing, pour half of the compound into the mold and use a brush to spread it evenly over the walls to prevent air bubbles. Then, add the rest of the compound and gently shake the mold. The casting can be removed from the mold after approximately 60 minutes.
At this stage, you can already color the decoration with acrylic paints or water-based tints. For extra protection and a matte finish, we recommend using a clear acrylic varnish.
Care and maintenance
An opened package will last 1–2 years if stored in a dry place at a stable temperature. When working, avoid humid areas to prevent premature clumping. Before using the casting in arrangements, ensure it is completely hardened.
After coloring, let the color dry thoroughly. If you want to use the decoration long-term or in demanding arrangements, coat it with a protective acrylic varnish. Protect finished castings from moisture and direct sunlight to maintain their appearance and strength.
